Procrastination means, unnecessary delaying the things till the last moment until it becomes urgent and avoiding them, why do people procrastinate.
People procrastinate as a typical human behavior to remain in their comfort zone, it is a mindset that responds, however, those people who are after success and want success never procrastinate, the funny part is, all people want to be successful, but very few follow right habits and rituals.
Many people think, I still have more time to do, and will do it later. These segments of people remain in their comfort zone till the last moment, they want to do and will do, but their minds remain in their comfort zone, these categories of people are highest, and what they don’t realize is that later when it will become urgent, then they will miss out the initial time-bandwidth, which can be used for creating quality work. By doing it initially, the quality of work will be better and last-minute stress can also be ruled out.
However, there are some people who also think that working under pressure or last-minute stress is good for them, however, this is just a justification they give to themselves to remain in their comfort zone and to their procrastination.
So – How to avoid procrastination
First Prepare yourself in your mind to take complete ownership
The second thing is to do the work immediately, the longer you think about doing something, the more reasons your mind will invent of not doing it.
The longer you think and relax, the less likely you’ll be to do it, our brain has a few seconds to act before your brain will start fading away from your initiatives.
Third – Once you start doing it, then set a time limit. This can be helpful when dealing with important tasks, putting 60 minutes nonstop timer or even more based on task with no distractions.
Fourth – Find out the distractions and remove them from you, like phone, social media, noise, anything that is causing the distractions. Close them all.
Fifth – Find your motivation and inspiration to create positive energy, it could be anything small, like the picture of great leaders with some quotes by which you get energized.
So by preparing your mind and practicing, you would be able to stop procrastination and open the doors of success.
